Superteam KZ - 2026 January-June Recap

The first half of 2026 marked an important milestone for the Solana ecosystem in Kazakhstan.

Over the past six months, Superteam Kazakhstan expanded developer education, launched new builder programs, supported founders participating in global hackathons, strengthened institutional partnerships, and continued bringing Solana to universities, financial institutions, and technology communities across the country.

Here is what we accomplished together during the first half of 2026.

Solana Summit Kazakhstan

On May 22, Superteam Kazakhstan hosted Solana Summit Kazakhstan, bringing together government representatives, regulators, financial institutions, founders, investors, developers, and global ecosystem partners.

The summit focused on the future of blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, stablecoins, and real-world asset tokenization. Several major partnerships and institutional initiatives were announced during the event.

AirAsia MOVE × Intebix × Solana Foundation

AirAsia MOVE, Intebix, and the Solana Foundation signed a Letter of Intent to explore the integration of EVO, also known as KZTE, into the AirAsia MOVE ecosystem.

EVO is a stablecoin denominated in Kazakhstan’s national currency, the tenge.

AirAsia MOVE connects more than 17 million monthly users with hundreds of airlines and over one million hotels worldwide. The potential integration could create a path for blockchain-based payments to reach a mainstream international audience.

AlmaU × Solana

Almaty Management University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to introduce an official Solana development course into its academic curriculum.

The initiative will provide students with structured education and practical experience in building applications on Solana.

KASE Digital Asset Platform

During Solana Summit Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange presented its new digital financial asset platform built on Solana.

The platform officially launched in June, making KASE Kazakhstan’s first licensed digital asset platform operator and laying the foundation for a regulated tokenized capital market in the country.

Institutional Adoption

The first half of the year also brought several important developments in the institutional adoption of Solana in Kazakhstan.

SOLZ_KZ Listed on KASE

In June, the Solana ETF with the trading code SOLZ_KZ was listed in the KASE Global sector. Official trading began on June 23.

The listing expands regulated access to Solana through Kazakhstan’s national stock exchange and represents another important step in the development of the country’s digital asset ecosystem.

Solana Foundation × Alatau City

In June, the Solana Foundation and the Alatau City Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at accelerating blockchain innovation and positioning Kazakhstan as a regional hub for Web3 infrastructure and real-world asset tokenization.

The partnership includes:

• advancing real-world asset and digital asset initiatives;
• attracting international Web3 companies and investment to Kazakhstan;
• organizing joint events, roadshows, and ecosystem initiatives;
• sharing expertise in blockchain innovation and digital economy development.

The agreement represents another important step toward establishing Kazakhstan as one of Central Asia’s leading blockchain and Web3 ecosystems.

Growing the next generation of Solana builders remains one of Superteam Kazakhstan’s core priorities.

During the first half of 2026, our educational initiatives expanded across 17 cities, engaging developers, students, founders, and local technology communities through workshops, university lectures, meetups, hackathons, and hands-on builder programs.

Solana Builders Bootcamp

In April, Superteam Kazakhstan launched a free two-week Solana Builders Bootcamp hosted at AlmaU.

The program was open to developers interested in building on Solana and focused on hands-on development, mentorship, technical guidance, and shipping real-world applications.

Participants worked directly with mentors and gained practical experience creating products within the Solana ecosystem.

University Workshops

Superteam Kazakhstan also hosted blockchain and Solana workshops at two of Kazakhstan’s leading technical universities:

• Nazarbayev University;
• KBTU.

Both universities already include blockchain education in their academic programs, helping prepare the next generation of Web3 developers.

Solana for Developers

To make Solana education more accessible, the first part of the Solana for Developers course was published on YouTube.

The course provides developers across Kazakhstan and the wider region with free access to structured Solana development training.

Kazakhstan’s builders continued making their mark across the global Solana ecosystem during the first half of the year.

Yona

Yona became the Open Track winner of the Solana Privacy Hack, presenting privacy-focused infrastructure built on Solana.

The achievement demonstrated the ability of Kazakhstan-based teams to build globally competitive blockchain products.

Solpoint

Solpoint was selected for the Encode × Solana Foundation Accelerator, joining one of the ecosystem’s leading startup programs.

The selection gives the team access to mentorship, ecosystem expertise, and support for developing a globally competitive Solana product.

From March 27 to April 7, Superteam Kazakhstan and Decentrathon organized the National Solana Hackathon, one of the largest Solana-focused hackathons ever held in Central Asia.

The hybrid event brought together builders through offline activities in 20 cities across Kazakhstan, alongside online participation from teams across the region.

The hackathon was officially announced by Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, highlighting Kazakhstan’s growing commitment to blockchain innovation and developer education.

Builders from Kazakhstan actively participated in several international Solana hackathons during the first half of 2026.

Agent Hack

The first Agent Hack by Solana and Colosseum brought together teams building AI agents, autonomous onchain applications, and next-generation developer tools.

Graveyard Hack

Graveyard Hack challenged participants to revisit overlooked areas of the crypto industry and create innovative products across ten ecosystem tracks.

Solana Frontier Hackathon

Kazakhstan’s builders joined teams from around the world, developing projects across DeFi, infrastructure, AI, consumer applications, and other Web3 categories.

TxODDS World Cup Hackathon

The TxODDS World Cup Hackathon runs until July 19, giving builders another opportunity to launch new products and compete for ecosystem support.

The first half of 2026 demonstrated what is possible when builders, universities, institutions, and global ecosystem partners work together.

During the second half of the year, Superteam Kazakhstan will continue expanding educational programs, supporting local teams in global hackathons, strengthening institutional partnerships, and creating new opportunities for founders and developers.
